Looking for a simple but versatile modern crochet blanket pattern, with plenty of texture and colour? The Candy Twist Blanket Pattern is perfect!

I definitely favour a simple, repetitive crochet pattern over something detailed and complicated – I’m not the best at continuous counting! It has to be a relaxing pattern to make, but it also has to have enough variations of stitches or colours to keep the process mindful (and I’d rather not have a million ends to weave in!). When I decided to try and create my own crochet pattern, these design elements were the top of my list!
I also love texture and colour (if you hadn’t noticed!), therefore for this design I mixed a few different sections of textured stitches, so the pattern would be simple to follow but not monotonous! And of course, I used my favourite pretty candy colours (which now form lots of my makes and several pattern designs in progress!).

The Candy Twist Blanket is a striped design, inspired by candy colours and rainbows! It is worked in rows using different crochet stitches to create sections of colour and texture. There’s also a lovely ribbed border which finishes the blanket off perfectly.
It’s a great pattern for confident beginners. If you’ve only tried the basic crochet stitches so far then this pattern will help add some more to your repertoire with special stitches being explained in detail, and some photo guidance too.
I love a versatile pattern too, where you can change up the colours for different needs / seasons, and I’ve made the Candy Twist blanket it a few different colours as you can see! The Autumn version has to be one of my favourites and now belongs to my sweet little dog, Kush! This pattern uses aran weight yarn but you could easily use any weight yarn.

It’s been my best-selling pattern, so thank you to everyone who has tried it! I really hope you’ve enjoyed it! And if you haven’t tried it yet, you can buy the pattern on Etsy or Lovecrafts
If you’re on Instagram don’t forget to tag me in your makes @harrietsduck and add the hashtag #candytwistblanket – I’d love to see them!
