7 Beautiful Summer Crochet Blankets

After teasing us a few weeks ago with warm, sunny days, the weather this past week seems to have taken a dip here in the UK! But the forecast shows sunshine is now on its way, so I thought I would share some of my favourite crochet blankets which make perfect summer projects.
1. The Floral Haze Blanket - FREE pattern!
When the very lovely people at Wool Warehouse asked me if I would like to design a blanket using their beautiful Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze and Pebble Haze Prints yarn, how could I say no!? I chose lavender, grey, white and a variegated shade in Prints 'Marloes Sands' and created a chevron design with an element of filet crochet to create a subtle flower shape throughout. My amazing tester Jan @perky_puffin_crochet made a teal colourway using 'Lulworth' variegated Pebble Haze Prints DK.
You can find the pattern FREE here - FLORAL HAZE BLANKET PATTERN
There are also 2 yarn packs available - one in each of the colourways pictured - grab yours here - FLORAL HAZE YARN PACKS
(Please note, I receive a small commission for every Floral Haze yarn pack sold).
2. Joyful June Sunburst Granny Square Blanket
I LOVE this blanket! I used a dot mandala painting I had made as the colour inspiration for this blanket, and chose shades of Sirdar Bonus DK and Paintbox Simply DK. I especially love the bobble border used on this design. It was a joy to make! If you'd like all the details on how to make your own, you can find my blog post and recipe here.
3. Little Flowers Blanket
This super pretty blanket was one of my first forays into designing. I wanted to make something which was the epitome of spring flowers, and this is how it ended up! It makes the sweetest baby blanket. If you'd like to make one, you can find the link to purchase the pattern here.
4. Summer Shades Granny Square Blanket
When I started making the squares for this blanket using yarn from my stash, I wasn't convinced I liked the colours! But as soon as I started joining them they looked so different! I added lots more colour on the big border, and it turned out to be a beautiful blanket. It's perfect for summer evenings in the garden. The blog post and recipe with all the details can be found here.
5. Spring Sunburst Baby Blanket
I crocheted this blanket using pastel shades of my favourite Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze, and Yarnsmiths Create DK Yarn. It's a simple, but beautifully pretty design, and would make a perfect gift for a new baby. And what is prettier than a shell border! You can find my blog post containing the recipe here!
6. August Haze Sunburst Granny Square Blanket
Another simple, summery design, which is brought to life by the pretty variegated yarn - Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze DK in 'Sidmouth', and it's another design which is finished in favourite mini bobble border. If you'd like to try this pattern then take a look at the recipe here.
7. Hazy Sunshine Baby Blanket
The very talented Debbie at Cornwall Crochet has created the most joyful design with her Hazy Sunshine Blanket pattern. I chose to make it using a range of pretty pastel shades from my stash (pop over to my Instagram page for the yarn details) and I love how it turned out! You can buy the pattern from Wool Warehouse here. Do check out Debbie's Instagram page @cornwallcrochet for more amazing designs!
I hope I've inspired you to try one (or more!) of these summery designs! I love to see your makes, so please do pop over to my Instagram page @harrietsduck and let me know what you've been crocheting!
